NEMA 2 conductor plugs and receptacles

 This "2-prong" design, with two flat parallel or non-parallel, non-coplanar blades and slots, is used in most of North America and on the east coast of South America on lamps; consumer electronics such as clocks, radios, and battery chargers; and other double insulated small appliances that don't require grounding.                                   

NEMA Standard 1-15P

  • 2-pole, 3-wire grounding. 15 amp-125 volt with parallel blades
  • AWG available: 18/2, 16/2, and 14/2 in SJ, SJO, SJT, SJTO
  • Plug available with polarized or non-polarized blades

NEMA Standard 1-15R

  • 2-pole, 3-wire grounding. 15 amp-125 volt with parallel blades
  • AWG available: 18/2, 16/2, and 14/2 in SJ, SJO, SJT, SJTO
  • Plug available with polarized or non-polarized blades

All NEMA 1 devices are two-wire non-grounding devices (hot-neutral) rated for 125 V maximum. 1-15P plugs have two parallel flat blades
